It’s a classic trend to add fresh flowers to wedding cakes. Flowers lend cakes a sophisticated feel, as well as gives them elegant character. There are many ways to pair fresh flowers with your wedding cake design and in this post we talk a little about how to do that. Cakes with flowers in them make a statement, just like these two cakes we recently made for weddings at the Palm Event Center Winery in Livermore and the East Ocean Restaurant in Emeryville. If you set out to use fresh flowers on your wedding cake, keep the following in mind. While flowers are used simply to decorate the cake and you won’t actually eat them, they do stay on the cake for some time, so you’ll want to make sure you use blooms that have not been sprayed with pesticides. When it comes to choosing the trend you want to go with, there are plenty to choose from. Keep the color of your wedding cake frosting consistent with the color of your flowers and give your wedding cake beautiful texture. Use bold colors like bright pink, purple or orange to add a pop of vibrant color. Use exotic flowers to give the cake a vintage touch. If you want to keep your cake classic, roses in any color achieves the look. Take a look at the following examples and enjoying dreaming about the possibilities.
